The WorkSaver Post-Offer Pre-Placement exam or Fit-For-Duty (Return-To-Work) exam is a job-specific functional examination designed for evaluating Post-Offer Pre-Placement applicants, or current employees after resolution of an injury or illness. This exam simulates job specific functions and tests an individual’s ability to complete these functions while maintaining a safe heart rate.
DUS positions requiring the WorkSaver exam include, but are not limited to: kitchen and housekeeping, janitorial, security, maintenance and warehouse, and animal control. The first part of the exam is a musculo-skeletal exam followed by a three minute aerobic step test warm up and then job simulation exercises which of course vary by position.
